Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) are one of the premier institute providing the based academic and research programmes all across the world. The students graduating from IIT are placed at key position in the different industries in India and abroad. The institutes impart training to students so that they become competent motivated engineers and scientists. The Institute award Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral degree in various batches of Technology and Science. It has been making special efforts to recruit talented faculty on a worldwide basis and to admit bright students from all over the country by a careful selection process (IIT- JEE).
Indian Institute of Technology conducts a joint entrance examination every year for admission to its B-Tech and other courses offered at the IIT Kanpur, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kharagpur, Guwahati, Patna, Roorkee, IT Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad.
The general notion is that the IIT - JEE is a difficult examination and the questions are complex and tough, this is not true. It is merely a different examination. All the requires is a proper examination temperament and different approach to the subject than most of the other examinations.
General Eligibility:
Basic eligibility is +2 passed and only two attempts are allowed in consecutive years- i.e.-

Examination Pattern in JEE-2010
There will be two question papers, each of three hours duration. Both the question papers will consist of three separate sections on Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. They will be of objective type, designed to test comprehension, reasoning and analytical ability of candidates.
Question Paper 1:
The question paper consists of 3 parts (Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics). Each part consists
of four Sections.There were 28 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. Each question carried marks.
Section1 - containing Single correct MCQ.for correct answer +3 marks & incorrect response -1 will be awarded i.e.(+3 and - I).
Section2- contains Multiple Correct Choice Type questions. For correct response +3 marks & incorrect response zero(0 )marks will be given. i.e. (+3 and 0).
Section3-this section contains paragraph type question. For correct answer +3 marks & incorrect response -1 marks will be awarded.
Section4- This section carry integer type question. This section have ni negative marking. So for correct response +3 marks given .i.e. (+3 and 0).
(Section 2 and 4 did not carry negative marking.)
Total marks in paper-I =252.
Question Paper 2: The question paper consists of 3 parts (Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics) and each Part
Consists of four Sections. There were 19 questions each in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
SECTION1- Single correct choice type. This section contains 6 multiple choice questions. .for correct answers +5 marks and for incorrect -2 marks will be awarded.
SECTION2- Integer Type
This section contains a group of 5 questions. NO NEGATIVE MARKING FOR THIS SECTION. For correct response +3 marks will be awarded.
SECTION3- Paragraph Type
This section contains 2 paragraphs. Based upon each of the paragraphs 3 multiple choice questions have to be answered. For correct answer +3 and for incorrect answer -1 marks will be given.
SECTION4- Matrix Type
This section contains 2 questions. The two Matrix Match question had four rows each to be matched with five other rows. Each correct marking of a Row awarded with +2 marks. There was no negative marking for matrix match question.
Total marks in paper2 =237
